UEE, Akamkpa organizes an orientation programme for its fresh students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The University of Education and Entrepreneurship, Akamkpa, Cross River State, organized the second orientation ceremony for its fresh students as they embarked on their academic journey for the 2025/2026 session, held today, February 24th, 2026.
The Vice Chancellor , Prof. Patrick N. Asuquo who was ably represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Assoc. Prof. Benedict Ugbong graciously welcomed the new intake to the university. His words resonated with encouragement as he admonished the newly admitted students, emphasizing that their decision to embark on an educational journey at the University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa was not just a mere choice but rather a significant step in the right direction towards a promising future. Unlike many other conventional universities across Nigeria, UEE prides itself on a commitment to not only imparting theoretical knowledge but also fostering skill acquisition and instilling strong character traits in its students. In his words "Graduates of this innovative university can look forward to receiving what is referred to as a "certificate plus"; this unique qualification comprises both a conventional academic certificate and an entrepreneur certificate, effectively preparing students to become job creators and fostering a sense of self-reliance".
Dr. Ugbong passionately encouraged the freshers to take full advantage of the serene and secure learning environment that UEE provides, which is thoughtfully designed to promote academic activities and personal growth. This atmosphere, rich with opportunities for exploration and learning, is pivotal for achieving the very purpose for which they have come to the university. In addition, he earnestly admonished the students to approach their studies with the utmost seriousness and dedication, while also engaging actively in all the practical skill training offered, as this hands-on experience is essential for becoming proficient in their chosen fields of study—ultimately enabling them to make meaningful contributions to society.
Furthermore, he took a moment to share some sage advice, urging the students to shun any form of antisocial behavior that could tarnish not only their reputation but also that of the university. He specifically mentioned serious issues such as cultism and stealing, emphasizing that such negative influences have no place in their academic journey or in the development of their character as future leaders and responsible students.
The Registrar of the University, Amb. Gabriel O. Egbe Ph.D, presented an insightful topic on the operational structure of the University and Indecent dressing amongst other topics that were presented by other resource persons.
The orientation programme is aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and as a vital introduction to university life and its numerous challenges and rewards.
Congratulations to all the UEE freshers!
